ART BIENNIAL

22 June – 29 September 2013

While art professionals – and lovers – from all over the world did their bi-annual pilgrimage to Venice in summer 2013 to get an overview of the global state of the arts, the seventh Momentum Biennial in the Norwegian town Moss, about a 40 minutes train ride from Oslo, insisted on its regional focus by offering a sample of contemporary art from the Nordic countries for those who prefer a more intimate venue.

This year the curators Power Ekroth and Erlend Hammer proposed the exhibitions Dare 2 Love Yourself and Six Impossible Things Before Breakfast.

EXHIBITION: HORIZONIC

UNFOLDING SPACE THROUGH SOUND ART

In 2012 ARTnord organized a touring exhibition, accompanied by a special issue. The aim of the project was to discover an active, committed and unusual sound art scene from the extreme North Atlantic fringes. Whether they amplify the perception of a place, render a new type of silence or speak in unheard voices from the living realm, the works gathered for this exhibition helped rediscover space through the experience of sound. Close or distant, personal or political, human or animal, a gripping phenomenon is arising. An invitation to discover unexpected signals from the Arctic horizon.
